Make A Mid-Century Mod Storage Solution

Introduction

If you’re looking for a way to keep your home tidy and organized, then the best thing you can do is start with a mid-century mod storage solution. The mid-century mod look is easy to achieve because it’s based on simple shapes and clean lines. Having everything in its place will help you find things quickly when they’re needed and save space by making sure nothing gets lost behind other things.

Know what you want

To make a mid-century mod storage solution, you need to know what you want to store and where. Do you have things that can be stacked vertically or horizontally? Are they heavy items or lightweight ones? Are they personal belongings or work supplies that need to be kept out of sight?

Once you’ve figured out what kind of storage solution would work best for your space and items, it’s time to start shopping!

Make a plan

  • Know what you want to build.
  • Make a plan of how you will build it.
  • Make sure you have all the tools and materials you need, or can borrow them from friends or family if needed (you might be surprised at who has an old bunk bed in their garage).
  • Make sure that everyone involved understands what they are doing, has proper safety equipment on hand ( goggles/glasses, gloves) and knows how to use the tools safely without causing injury or damage to themselves or others nearby.

Create a list of tools, materials, and supplies

  • Tools
  • A drill with a 1/8″ bit (for the dowels) and 5/16″ bit (for the hinges)
  • Screwdriver, hammer, pliers or wrench for tightening screws and bolts.
  • Materials:
  • Wood glue (you can use Elmer’s or something similar) – about 1/4 cup. You can also use Titebond III Wood Glue if you prefer it over regular wood glue. This stuff is stronger than regular wood glue and it dries clear so you don’t have to worry about seeing any residue after you’ve applied it to your project! It comes in a tube which makes applying easier too! I found mine at Home Depot but they sell it online as well if needed čÖé
  • Spray paint – I chose white because this color goes with any decor style so no matter what changes occur in my home decor throughout time this piece will still fit right into place! Plus white adds brightness when used inside dark spaces like closets čÖé You could also choose other colors such as black or grey depending on what look suits best for each individual closet space; however going darker may cause issues later down road since most clothes tend toward brighter tones rather than darker ones…so keep this tip in mind when deciding on how much contrast there should be between clothing items stored within each closet section.”

Gather your supplies

Gather your supplies:

  • A tape measure to measure the height and width of the space where you want to store things.
  • The right size of storage bins, shelving units, baskets, or containers for your needs.

Start building!

The first step is to build the legs. Follow our plan and make sure you have all the tools and materials needed for this project. Be patient, as it may take some time for you to complete each step of building your storage solution.
